The International Walk for Celiac Disease is a national effort directed at raising funds for celiac research and awareness initiatives.  Since its inception, the International Walk for Celiac Disease has raised over $1,500,000 for research and awareness programs at the University of Maryland’s Center for Celiac Research.  Funds raised at the Rochester Walk for Celiac Disease also support the Rochester Celiac Support Group’s commitment to raising celiac awareness in the greater Rochester community.  Our local awareness efforts have included bringing renowned celiac experts to speak in Rochester, offering free celiac blood tests to the public, displaying informational storyboards at public libraries and health fairs, and providing training for local restaurants on how to properly accommodate the gluten-free diet.
