Date Balls - Jill Schwartz

½ c. butter

1 cup sugar melted with 1 beaten egg

8 oz cutup dates

½ t. salt

1 t. vanilla

1 t. almond extract

2 ½ c. rice cereal

½ c. chopped pecans

1 package coconut

Melt butter, add sugar and egg and dates and cook slowly until thick.  Remove from heat and add flavorings.  Fold in cereal and nuts. When cool, form into balls and roll in coconut.
