The Rochester Celiac Support
Group is lead by an elected advisory board and numerous Advisory Board Details for RCSG – GIG as of 1/20/09 Ten voting members of the Advisory Board (Two Year Terms): President: Represents, or speaks for, the organization, presides at monthly meetings and advises the group of any new information pertaining to celiac disease, gluten-free products and gluten-free restaurants. The president also creates the Advisory Board Agenda for the six meetings each year. Vice-President: Presides over the monthly meetings when the president in unavailable, assists the president at meetings when needed and oversees the Refreshments Committee. Secretary: The secretary is responsible for taking and distributing, through the cellist, the minutes of the monthly meetings; taking and distributing to the Advisory Board members the minutes of the bi-monthly Advisory Board meetings (6 times a year); sending notices of meetings to the media and to members; and performing other administrative duties assigned by the organization. Treasurer: The treasurer shall approve all routine expenditures and report the status of accounts at each Advisory Board Meeting. Non-routine expenditures will be made with the approval of the Advisory Committee. The treasurer is required to make a quarterly report to the Gluten Intolerance Group of N. A. Chairpersons for the following committees:
At-Large Member: Active member of the organization with the willingness to participate in and contribute to Advisory Board meetings. Plus, the prior President/Co-Chair is invited to be an active and voting member of the Advisory Board for two years after his/her term ends. The Advisory Board can meet as often as necessary to conduct its business, but no less than quarterly. In recent years the Board has met every other month on the Monday prior to the third Wednesday of the month. All members of the Support Group are eligible for nomination. A regular election to fill vacancies due to expiring terms will be held in May. Non-routine vacancies will be filled by designation by the President with advice from the Board. Officers will be selected by a vote of the Advisory Board
